Urquiola for Agape

#60 The Agape 12 space is hosting two baths by Patricia Urquiola, one responding to architectural demands and the other centred on research and design #salone2015

Agape
“The designs were born in response to specific requirements.” – says Patricia Urquiola when presenting two baths designed for Agape – “Lariana was designed to meet an architectural need whereas Cuna was stimulated by research and experimentation into the limits of acrylic as a material”.
Patricia Urquiola photographed among her furnishings for Agape and Coedition: the Lariana bath by Agape, made of white Cristalplant®, and Coedition’s Luna cabinet, a combination of walnut and lacquered MDF.
The compact appearance and small size of Lariana, made of white Cristalplant®, were dictated by the need to include it in a specific contract project. Cuna is the result of detailed knowledge of thermoforming materials and production processes. Like the old lamps with an iron structure around blown-glass that expanded on the inside, Cuna is made of thermoformed Solid Surface, contained within a load-bearing structure in tubular steel.
