“Take life lightly, lightness is not superficiality but it's gliding on things from above, not having boulders on the heart,” Italo Calvino wrote in Six Memos for the Next Millennium. The idea of lightness reminds us of the well-being of body and mind, of breaks from the frenzy of everyday life, of a life in the open air. It takes us back to Italian holidays, to the countryside or the sea, to the colours and scents of the Mediterranean maquis...

It is precisely this imagery that inspires the Italian company Nardi, which at Milan Design Week 2023 (17 to 23 April) will present the Limonaia installation in the Tortona district.

Protagonist of Nardi's installation at Fuorisalone 2023 will be the Net Lounge outdoor armchair, designed by Raffaello Galiotto: a perfect piece of furniture to be placed by the poolside, on the terrace and in all outdoor spaces dedicated to leisure: enjoying the sun, watching sunsets, reading, dozing off... Net Lounge is characterised by sinuous shapes, as gentle as the movement of sea waves, and capable of transmitting relaxation and wellbeing just by looking at it.

The space at Torneria Tortona, via Tortona 30, will deliberately play with the ambiguity between inside and outside, suggesting an Italian context with natural and lush echoes and special effects that will give visitors the sensation of floating in the air. Two talks will also be held during Design Week: on 19 April, architect and well-known TV personality Diego Thomas will be the protagonist; on 21 April, there will be a discussion between Stefania Piloni, doctor and lecturer in phytotherapy at the University of Milan, and landscape architect Antonio Perazzi. Journalist and author Antonella Galli will conduct both evenings.
