The project by Jorge Penadés for Camper in Malaga was born from his visit to the Binissalem warehouse, a village in the centre of the island of Mallorca where the headquarters of the footwear manufacturing company are located. During a visit to one of the warehouses he found himself surrounded by old furniture previously used in the other Camper stores and custom-made pieces by designers of the calibre of Gaetano Pesce, Michele De Lucchi and the Bouroullec brothers.

From the beginning, the designer wanted to use the available space as a temporary factory to start self-manufacturing the pieces for the store in Malaga. Last summer, therefore, the whole team of Oficina Penadés moved to Mallorca to build the custom-designed pieces using three simple carpentry elements – metal profiles, corner plates and bolts – and giving shape to all the necessary furnishings, including the typography of the numbers.
The Spanish studio created shelving with a very simple design and construction details, with a pop-industrial aesthetic biven by brightly coloured lacquering and the combination of coloured neon.
