Toshiba tackled a true technological challenge with the Louvre project, by developing specific LED solutions perfectly adapted to the Louvre museum in terms of colour, heat and flat designs. These brand new products will illuminate the Pyramid, the Pyramidions, the Napoléon Cour from December 2011, and the Cour Carrée in 2013. In total, about 3,200 outdoor lights will be installed, including floodlight fixtures for the Pyramid and the facade, and projectors for the roofs, saving a 73% of energy.
Beyond the technological and installation prowess, this iconic project has given Toshiba an opportunity to thoroughly illustrate its main values and convictions. The meaningful long-term partnership emphasises Toshiba's commitment to leading innovation combined with the Akari philosophy to helping to create and envisage a harmonious future, which respects the environment.
